Down and IN from London To Belfast (Via Scotland) ~Belfast

I just wanted to steal the title from Orwell's Down and Out in London and Paris, which I just finished reading.  Great read, if sometimes scatter brained and stalled by direct social commentary which stops the flow of the story.  Imagine a great movie that every 20 minutes or so stopped and a clip of the filmmaker telling you directly his opinions which are the themes of his story.  Weird, but a great book, nonetheless.

Not really fair to call it Down and Out tho, since I was never on the verge of homelessness nor hungry, I just vagabonded it in Hostels from London to Belfast.

Here's the oldest bar in all of Ireland, in Belfast: The Crown Bar.  This place is so freaking cool!

The walls that still separate the Catholic and the Protestant neighborhoods, closing every night at 10pm, even though "the troubles" ended years ago.

Here's a mural in an area of Belfast that has been a hotbed of violence during the troubles.  Bobby Sands, a hero to many Irish and a revolutionary "volunteer" of the IRA, considered a terrorist by M. Thatcher and many British.

The green pastures of North Ireland, filled with sheep, all along the coast of the Irish Sea
